We have been told right from childhood "Save for the rainy days", saving wasn't that bad of an advice either, it's better than having nothing at hand. The missing piece of the puzzle was what do you do exactly with the savings, how do you manage it and how do you envision to grow it? That's been ignored or possibly the question was never asked, we just blindly did what was told..
